Over het evenement
The ensemble The Royal Wind Music consists of graduates of the Amsterdam Conservatory. They play recorders of all sizes, from sopranino to three-meter-long subcontrabass flutes. All instruments are built by renowned specialists based on historical models, such as the Ambras flutes in the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna. In its unconventional programs, the ensemble relies on direct communication with the audience. The focus of our concert is one of the key figures of the Renaissance: the German painter Albrecht Dürer. The music performed corresponds to Dürer's masterpieces; you will also hear works from the environment of the court orchestra of Emperor Maximilian I, who was one of Albrecht Dürer's important sponsors and clients. The Innsbruck Court Church, which houses Maximilian's magnificent tomb with the famous Black Men (Dürer, for example, designed the figure of King Arthur), is therefore the ideal venue for this concert, which promises synesthetic enjoyment of the highest class…
