Over het evenement

The ensemble The Royal Wind Music consists of graduates of the Amsterdam Conservatory. The Amsterdam ensemble The Royal Wind Music plays recorders of all sizes, from sopranino to three-meter-long subcontrabass flutes. All instruments are built by renowned specialists such as Adriana Breukink, Adrian Brown and Bob Marvin based on historical models, such as the Ambras flutes in the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna.


In its unconventional programs, the ensemble relies on direct communication with the audience. The focus of our concert is one of the key figures of the Renaissance: the German painter Albrecht Dürer.


The music performed corresponds to Dürer's masterpieces; among other things, you can also hear works from the court orchestra of Emperor Maximilian I, who was one of Albrecht Dürer's most important patrons and clients.
